HIGH COURT SESSION
SPECIAL HIGH COURT SESSION IN HONOUR OF LATE BARR. LUMENZE SAMUEL EKEJI
The Imo State Judiciary on Friday, July 31, 2026, held a Special High Court Session in honour of the late Barrister Lumenze Samuel Ekeji, a respected lawyer, devoted Christian and accomplished businessman.
The special session, held at the Justice Oputa High Court Complex, Owerri, was convened as a traditional judicial farewell to the late legal practitioner and a commemoration of his life and contributions to the legal profession.
Speaking on behalf of the Acting Chief Judge of Imo State, Hon. Justice I. O. Oguagua, Hon. Justice L. C. Azuama described the deceased as a devoted Christian, an active member of First Baptist Church Amaimo, a lawyer and businessman.
Barr. Ekeji was born in 1974 into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Hyacinth Obieshi Ekeji and hailed from Umu-duru-anyanwu Obodo, Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
He began his education at Amaimo Central School, Obodo, Ikeduru L.G.A., before proceeding to Amaimo High School Obodo, formerly known as St. Columbus High School, where he obtained his Senior School Certificate.
The Judiciary noted that his death has left a vacuum among his colleagues, describing the special court session as a fitting occasion to pay the departed lawyer his due honour.
Barr. Lumenze Samuel Ekeji will be remembered for his service to the legal profession, his Christian values and his commitment to humanity.
